How to Send a Contract for Signature From Your Phone
You can send a contract for someone else to sign entirely from your phone: open DocuAgree in your phone's browser, start from a template or upload your own document, add the signer's email, drop in a signature field, and send. They get a link and sign from their own phone — no app needed on either end.
Step by step
- Start from a template, or upload your own. Open DocuAgree in your phone's browser and either pick a starter template close to what you need, or upload a PDF or Word document you already use — either way opens straight into the mobile builder.
- Add who needs to sign. Switch to the Recipients tab and enter the signer's name and email. Add a second signer here too if the document needs more than one signature.
- Drop in a signature field. Switch to Content, and drag a Signature field from the panel onto the spot in the document where they need to sign. Add a Full Name or Date field the same way if you want those filled in automatically.
- Review, then send. Check the document looks right, then send it — your signer gets an email with a link to open and sign the document on their own phone.
- Get notified the moment it's signed. You'll get an email with the signed PDF and a certificate of completion attached as soon as they finish — no need to check back manually.
Common mistakes
- Sending without a signature field placed. A document can technically send without one — but with nowhere marked to sign, your recipient has nothing to click. Check the Content tab before sending, not after.
- Typing the wrong email. A contract sent to a mistyped address just sits unopened. Double-check the address on the Recipients tab, especially on a phone keyboard where autocorrect can silently swap a character.
- Not checking how it looks to the signer. What you see in the builder is what they'll see — if a field is placed slightly off a line, it'll be off for them too. A quick scroll through before sending catches most of this.
If they haven't signed yet
You don't have to guess. Every document's detail page shows each signer's status — sent, viewed, or signed — plus, once they've opened it, how many times, how long they spent, and which pages they actually read. See how to tell if a client actually read your proposal for what that looks like and how to use it before following up.
