DocuAgree for Real Estate Agents
For an independent agent, DocuAgree is a low-cost way to get signatures on the paperwork your transaction platform doesn't cover, or to replace a pricey e-signature add-on if you don't need the rest of that platform. Upload any form your state association or brokerage requires as a PDF, place signature and date fields on it, and your clients sign on their phone. It costs $4.99/month with no limit on how many documents you send. It is not a transaction-management system, and the limits of that are spelled out below.
Where it fits an agent's work
- Your state's required forms, as-is. Most agents are required to use state association or brokerage forms for purchase agreements, listing agreements, and disclosures. DocuAgree doesn't replace those forms; you upload the PDF exactly as issued and add signature, initial, and date fields where they belong, so the form itself stays unchanged.
- The paperwork outside the transaction. Independent contractor agreements with your brokerage or a team member, agreements with stagers, photographers, and other vendors, referral arrangements, and NDAs are documents you can build from a template and edit in the browser.
- Rental and leasing work. If you place tenants or manage a few rentals, the residential lease template covers rent, deposits, repairs, entry, and the federal lead paint disclosure for older homes, with every state-specific term left for you to fill in.
- Clients who sign from anywhere. Buyers and sellers sign from a link on their phone with no account or app, and each signer's consent, IP address, and timestamps are recorded on a certificate of completion attached to the signed document.
Are e-signatures valid on real estate documents?
For most of them, yes. The federal ESIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, adopted in nearly every state, make an electronic signature on a purchase agreement, listing agreement, lease, or disclosure as valid as one in ink, as long as the parties agree to sign electronically. The common exception is anything that has to be notarized or recorded, such as a deed: recording offices generally require a notarized signature, which DocuAgree doesn't provide. See e-signature laws by state for the details where you practice.
Starting templates
- Residential lease agreement — for leasing and small rental clients
- Independent contractor agreement — agent-to-brokerage or team-member terms
- Simple service agreement — staging, photography, cleaning, and other vendors
- Mutual NDA — off-market listings and other confidential deals
Why the pricing fits
One flat $4.99/month covers every client and every document, with no envelope count to watch in a busy month. Your first 3 documents are free with no card. In a slow season you can pause billing from Settings, and every signed document stays in your account.
Where it doesn't fit
Be clear-eyed about what's missing before you switch:
- No transaction management. There's no transaction checklist, no MLS or forms-library integration, and no broker compliance review queue. If your brokerage runs deals through a dedicated platform, keep using it; DocuAgree only handles signing.
- One sender per account. There's no team or brokerage login, so a team where several agents send documents would need separate accounts.
- No notarization. Documents that must be notarized, like deeds, need a notary or a remote online notarization service.
